Fieldwork
The School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work believes that fieldwork should be an enjoyable and challenging experience for both supervisors and students. The School endeavours to ensure the experience for all parties - students and supervisors - is valuable, memorable and ultimately the beginning of a pathway to a fulfilling career. Students will immerse themselves in the fieldwork experience and emerge ready to register and practice as occupational therapists and social workers whilst supervisors will learn from educating.
School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work fieldwork programs provide students with well in excess of the mandated fieldwork hours providing numerous part-time and full-time opportunities to explore, master and fine tune the required knowledge, skills and attitudes imperative to practising as a new graduate. By ensuring all students experience fieldwork in a range of services with a variety of clients, the fieldwork programs allow theoretical constructs to be transformed into the reality of practice.
The way to do fieldwork is never to come up for air until it is all over.Margaret Mead (American anthropologist, 1901-1978)
